It’s been a grand old week it started with a performance of my latest theatre show Zombierella at the brilliant Redbridge Central Library two schools were invited for performances and “Ewwed” at all the right parts especially the removal of Zombierella’s guts!
I was next continuing the #MyCity project created by The Spark in Leicester where I have the pleasure of working with four schools getting them to write poems whilst I develop my commissioned piece #APoemforLeicester. This week we hunted for similes around the school grounds, I am blessed to be working with truly talented little writer and fabulous teachers…
“As stinky as poo!” Well it was!
After two days in Leicester it was a five hour train ride to Merthyr Tydfil for the Spread The Word Festival where I met some very astute five year olds and many a child dressed as their favourite #WorldBookDay Characters there were also some special guests including Jack Sparrow and a couple of Willy Wonka’s Candy Canes!!!
Here is the “off the hoof” disgusting food poem created with the audience at The Spread The Word Festival.
Friday and Saturday saw me performing in three libraries for the Apples and Snakes Spine Festival where I performed Zombierella to an invited school and two public audiences one child asked…
“Are you wearing a hat”
I wasn’t 🙂
My trusty trolley holding the whole of Fairytales Gone Bad Zombierella!
I’m now getting ready to end my week with a performance of interactive poems at Michael Rosen’s The Big Write at Discover Children’s Story Centre
then the week all starts again tomorrow…
Behind the scenes I’ve been working on quite an exciting book more news to follow soon.
