Crewe Library, Cheshire East
My first Library today was Crewe Library in Cheshire east where I met Library Manager Tom Appleby and The Bookstart Bear.
Cheshire East is taking part in the EU Code week holding digital coding events from the first sat in October for a total of three weeks how amazing and how unexpected before embarking on this journey I knew libraries offered a huge amount other than books but I never would have guess coding weeks!
The coding doesn’t stop there however as Cheshire East also holds huge lego clubs where participants build and then explain what they built, they also create Lego robots that get coded or create Lego stop motion animation – they even have a youtube channel. Tom tells me how these sessions have proved to be great ways for kids (especially those with additional needs) to communicate.
