Riverside Library, Derby City
I had the pleasure of performing at the Derby Book Festival for their annual Meet The Author Event. Where 500-odd students from 70 schools around derby descended on Derby Theatre to hear poems from my latest collection A Year OF Nature Poems. The event was a wonderful rollercoaster and on hearing of my challenge to join a library in every authority in the UK the organisers set to it to ensure that I got Derby’s Riverside Library ticked off. Head Of Children’s Services Hilary Marshall introduced me to library staff Palo Raju and Raman Khera who, I am told, does a brilliant story-time. No sooner had I joined the library I was off agin as my route home had the potential to see me join a further three libraries but would I make it? First stop I was aiming for was Long Eaton Library in Derbyshire Riverside Library.
