Idea Store Canary Wharf, Tower Hamlets, London
One of the reasons I started the library Marathon was because I was finding myself constantly in libraries as part of the day to day of being a writer and felt it would be grand to find a way of promoting these super spaces. The library Marathon was born. One of the libraries that inspired this idea was the Canary Wharf Idea Store where I joined staff during the packed story-time, a year or so ago, to read my then debut picture book Luna Loves Library Day. I was shocked that in the heart of the city usually associated with big business and being busy. There was an oasis of laughter and singing and stories. It was so great to return and to borrow the poetry anthology classic The Works Edited by the marvellous Paul Cookson.
